A Plain-Language Reward Card Glossary

Shared definitions help merchant, product and support teams write a consistent recipient experience.

01

Customer and campaign terms

Eligible Shopify order: an order that meets the conditions stated for the campaign. Reward decision: the recorded outcome of evaluating the order against those conditions.

Recipient: the person identified by the applicable campaign as entitled to continue into the reward experience. Customer-facing terms: the information that explains qualification, availability and relevant conditions.

02

Experience and administration terms

Reward notification: the message that explains why the recipient is being contacted and what to do next. Access journey: the steps a recipient follows after opening that message.

Program record: connected information used to understand campaign context, order eligibility, reward status and reconciliation. Escalation: a structured handoff when a question needs deeper review.

03

Card and network context

Virtual reward card: a digital card experience made available under the applicable program terms. Card network: the network named in the materials for the specific card experience.

General definitions do not replace the terms presented to a recipient for a particular program.
